Do I need any special hardware to use Range Up?
No. Range Up works from a floor plan you sketch on your phone. It does not need a Wi-Fi scanning permission, a plug-in sensor, or a specific router brand.
Does Range Up work with any Wi-Fi extender or mesh system?
Yes. The placement advice is vendor-neutral — it tells you where a repeater, mesh node or second access point should physically go, whatever brand you buy. It is a planner, not a configuration tool, so it never needs to connect to your hardware.
Is Range Up free?
Sketching a floor plan, drawing walls and doors, adding floors, placing your router, marking the room you care about and reading the full coverage heatmap are all free. Premium unlocks placing extenders, revealing the recommended spot and the before/after comparison.
Does my data leave the phone?
No. Floor plans and coverage simulations run on-device. There is no account to create and no plan is uploaded to a server.
How accurate is the coverage map?
Range Up models signal loss from distance and from the wall materials you pick, so it is a planning tool, not a calibrated survey. In practice it is accurate enough to rank candidate extender spots and to show which rooms fall off a cliff — which is the decision you actually need to make.
